May was the month for family, friends and the dentist

Our good friend, Tanja, and I hit all the Chicago highlights including the Dali exhibit at the Arti Institute and the Chicago River Architecture Tour
Mother’s Day was a delight with lunch with Molly, Andy and Declan followed by Renee Fleming at the CSO and dinner with family
Declan is the sweetest baby. The Narwhal is a new crochet project.
Meander is on the road again. Lake Cachuma is now full of water since the California atmospheric river!
Variable checkerspot and other butterflies were with me on my hike around the lake.
Beautiful rides in the rolling hills around Santa Ynez now a winery destination
Ann and Jim and I enjoyed this tasting at Stolpman.
Met up with Stanford friends in Montecito
Daily walks are required! We walked at Miramar beach and Arroyo Burro Beach
We rode along the waterfront and then into the hills.
Hiked on the Ennisbrook trail along the San Ysidro Creek and found the “Secret Whisper Tree” One can tell dreams and wishes into the ear on the tree
This trail is mystical ! Can’t you just hear the old oak trees speaking to you
We shared fabulous meals created by one and all.
We were then blessed by the arrival of Ellie and Mary. After a visit to the local farmer’s market, Mary was inspired and we enjoyed several dips made from carrots and fava beans. The mushrooms and lamb were cooked to perfection.
