Spring arrives 2026

Spring arrived early to Superior, Colorado. We got to enjoy the blossoms and the birds creating quite a stir.
Natalie and I enjoyed an event in Louisville just before the “No Kings” March. We were all knitting red hats to wear in solidarity.
I spent six hours in the Denver airport to get back to Chicago and drive north. I picked up Ann in Madison and we drove to Minneapolis. We stopped at Emily’s on the way to Pat’s house to pick up the best meal ! Then we got down to business knitting a blanket for BBG.
Pat hosted Passover dinner so we helped as best we could.
Pat creates such a meaningful evening with music and readings! Her children and grandchildren adding just the right touch. They waded through the red sea and sang
‘Pharoah, Pharoah”
The next day we all walked to “Minnehaha Falls.”
Annie Kahn hosted a baby shower for Mary Gumport. We enjoyed great food and beverages and even played a fun game. We were not upset about the snow showers outside.
Somewhere along the way we celebrated Easter with Declan and Owen in Chicago.
Mary Martin joined me in Colorado for great hikes, strolls with Leila, quiet meals and raucous games after dinner. Mary, as usual, was the winner of “Flip 7”
We saw this Canadian goose nesting high up in a tree. This is unusual for them but it reported. The goose was still sitting there days later. It is right on the path I take to walk Leila around the neighborhood.
Spent another six hours in the Denver airport but did make it back to Chicago for the Ballet Chicago Gala. The featured speaker was my granddaughter, Nicole. It is her last season with the company and she will start NYU next year. She was epitome of poise and we are so very proud of her and all of her accomplishments.
Andy and Molly have moved to Wilmette and I spent the weekend helping them unpack. The boys are loving the large backyard and bigger bedrooms. Declan is set on becoming an astronaut and his room is appropriately decorated. Lots more fun to be had in this new location.
