Bliss Landing, British ColumbiaIt is sometimes a challenge to get to Bliss but I get to avoid the road from Powell River. There is nothing quite like flying to the dock in Bliss and being picked up by Palmer and Steve in the golf cart. At the end of the road, their idyllic house awaits. Wendy and Palmer shopped at the yarn store in Powell River and bought the supplies for a blanket for Christopher and Natalie’s baby. Wendy designs the blanket and gives us instructions for our squares. She has the arduous task of putting all the squares together! A true labor of love. When we are not knitting, we are going out on the boat to place and retrieve prawn pots and our dinner. We had perfect weather! Refrigerator delivery day found us enjoying Wendy’s new house! The hummingbirds kept us alert when on the deck and inside the house. Our resident artist, Becky Smith, sketches and paints. We are so lucky to have her with us to capture the beauty that surrounds us. At the end of the day, it doesn’t get much better than this ! I made it home in time to enjoy Owen’s first birthday party. The celebration started with all of their friends from play group and after a nap a family party exteneded into the night. Owen decided the next day to get his crawl game on and is now very mobile at home ! A few days later we celebrated Nicole’s 17th birthday. After a delicious dinner, Josh led us in a new game! “Hitster” was a big hit and enjoyed by three generations in attendance. Another special birthday for my very good friend, Roz. She turned 85 and celebrated with fine dining, good friends and family and dancing! August got started with a baby shower for Natalie and Christopher. We are looking forward to a new addition to our family in early October.
